Allow me to state the obvious. Chen will have mail and stuff. His opponents have emails. This is kind of like taking a screwdriver to a gunfight. Chen has done it again, raised a ton of money for his assembly race.

20160424_112521As expected, the CRA did indeed charter a couple of dubious new units. It is extremely important to save face and do what is necessary to avoid having to admit fault (or change behavior). This is after all, politics.

One of the units the “new” Yorba-Placentia CRA is already a dysfunctional mess. The “Establishment” part of the unit led by a Greg Gianelli are selectively admitting members. It appears that the portion of the would-be-CRA membership that are friendly toward Desiree Ferraro are being excluded. Where have I seen this before???

(Pictured – CRA 900 Club Charter Member Craig Alexander)

Business as usual. Fights for Control.

CD45: People are expecting me to endorse Greg Raths. I am not there yet. I do know that Mimi Walter’s team have been engaging in some pretty hard-hitting tactics against Mr. Raths. I’ve written about some of it.  I am indeed very sad about her “D” rating from Heritage, however. Anyone with a memory should remember that I had some not-so-nice things to write about Mr. Raths in the past.

The main thing that has Mimi Walters off of my “Bad Incumbent” list is her party-building efforts. She deserves credit for it. I am just not sure that the blatant hypocricy of the OC GOP Cent Com is her fault.

All that said, seeing the fear that Rath’s candidacy has put in to the OC GOP is quite exhilarating. The loss of control alone has been worth it.

CD48: Dana Rohrabacher. He is the collateral damage of the pseudo conservative ideological narcissist opportunist class in Orange County.

AD68: Harry Sidhu. He is the adult in the room. Harry is a good man, good businessman and despite some of his past misgivings on the Anaheim City Council (or the yawn, residency BS) he is a conservative.

Sidhu also knows how to drive. He also has been consistent. <<< These two qualities alone make him worthy of everyone’s support.

AD55: Phillip Chen AND Steve Tye. There is an old adage in politics – if you want to piss everyone off, dual endorse. This I rarely ever dual endorse. So, let me sum it up:

Mike Spence is a conservative. I have done business with Mike Spence on several occasions to purchase his slates when he is mailing to Placer County or other parts of the north. My fear with Mr. Spence is that he will govern in the mold of Tim Donnelly or John Moorlach – since Spence has received theirs and the endorsements of other do-nothing self-promoting Conservatives. We need party builders, not more No voters that do nothing else but.

I could not pick Phillip Chen over Steve Tye for a key reason. I consider Tye a friend and have had some pretty cool chats with him. He is a good man of character and while he is another “Old White Guy”, his character and heart are too compelling to subordinate to…

… Phillip Chen who is also a solid human being who I don’t know as well as I do Steve Tye. Candidates like Phillip Chen are indeed the future of the California Republican Party. Chen is solid on every issue I care about and I believe he would indeed be a party builder.

I know that Tye would also be a team player as he is the rare candidate who has his ego in check.

I simply could not pick between the two, so I am telling you that either one would be a great rep for AD55. Decide which factors are the most important and vote your conscience.

12622564_485801971628359_778986137229611539_oLastly – Two Items: I would also encourage the conflict avoider caucus to take out Adam Nick and his ass monkey on the Lake Forest City Council in their next election. Maybe this could help break new ground for the OC GOP, actually calling BS on bad incumbents and clipping them out of office. In the North, we call this leadership – but we usually get the dump truck long before a nutwad self-funds a recall effort. If the OC GOP did this, I’d lend this blog to help the effort.

#2 Dear OC GOP – set fire to Scott Steiner. Endorse his opponent Karen Schatzle. Do it now. Don’t wait until he loses re-election.

I have written previously that I really like Steve Tye and Phillip Chen in AD55. I will re-affirm that comment.

That said, I don’t think Spence would be a bad representative either. He would be another ideologue in the mold of McClintock, Donnelly or Ted Cruz. I guess I just contradicted my previous sentence as none of the three do a damn thing other than vote no and promote themselves.

I wish I could find a group of hard-right leaders that were not ideological narcissists. After 18 years, I am despairing that such an animal may be as easy to find in the wild as a Carrier Pigeon.

As I investigate the Conservaitve leadership further, I find that they play the same incestuous insider game as the godless America-hating left. So much for the moral high ground as well…

Mike Spence used to get Howard Ahmanson to fund hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of Independent Expenditures when he was President of a Statewide Conservative Group. (The current President of said Group is the Pol-Pot Bellied CRA Information Minister Thomas N Hudson, he of the California Taxpayer Protection (racket) Committee – remember the recent Spence Press Releases and quotes?)

Well, Howard Ahmanson surfaced again. His company, Fieldstead and Company is paying for an attack campaign against Bob Huff.

I don’t know Bob Huff. With all due respect to the outgoing senator, I could care less about his race for supervisor.

What I do know is that Mike Spence and Howard Ahmanson are close. What I also know is many years ago when that Statewide Conservative Group was semi-relevant, there was a world war three primary fight between Dennis Mountjoy and Bob Huff for the senate seat Huff is now termed out of.

I know that resentments in politics last forever. I’d be remiss if I did not make mention of that fact. That Statewide Group supported Mountjoy and most were angry and devastated when Huff won.

Oh leave us not forget, Spence is supporting Mike Antonovich’s Chief of Staff Barger for the same county supervisor seat and Huff is one of the primary boosters of Phillip Chen, who is regarded as the strongest contender for AD55.

This is why I believe that site is not an accident or independent.

Mike Spence is a taxpayer advocate. Yes, I will credit him with being a consistent conservative.

Spence is knee-deep in the shrinking CA GOP Conservative Racket as well.

There is a reason why I have consistently predicted a CRA endorsement of Spence and continue to do so until they still him just to make a liar out of me… take a look at who is quoted in Mike Spence’ latest campaign email. (I emboldened the name, for those of you with short attention spans)

Spence Certified as Taxpayer Advocate

The California Secretary of State has officially certified Councilman Mike Spence’s ballot designation of Taxpayer Advocate / Councilman for the 55th Assembly district election on June 7, 2016.

Spence is the only taxpayer advocate running for State Assembly, and was immediately endorsed by the California Taxpayer Protection Committee (CTPC), one of the state’s major taxpayer organizations.

“Mike Spence is the only candidate for the 55th Assembly District to oppose all tax increases for the last 30 years, not just some of them,” said CTPC Executive Director Tom Hudson. “Mike Spence is the only candidate taxpayers can trust to fight for us no matter what the cost to himself personally. It’s easy to say you are a tax fighter when asking Republicans for their votes. Mike is only candidate who has been tested in battle over and over again and never let us down. The rest of them are nice guys, but we need much more than that – we need a proven tax fighter like Mike Spence.”

A candidate’s official ballot designation is certified by the Secretary of State only if proven to be true. Spence is the only candidate able to demonstrate a long history of taxpayer advocacy, and to meet the high standards for official state government certification.

“Anyone can claim to be a small businessman,” noted Hudson. “Democrats and Republicans do it in Sacramento all the time.  But tough votes against the powers that be in Sacramento take tough tax fighters like Mike Spence. We need a taxpayer advocate in Sacramento.”

Councilman Mike Spence, a life-long West Covina resident, previously served 22 years on the West Covina school board.  He has been endorsed by Congressman Tom McClintock.

Thomas N. Hudson is the sitting President of the CRA. Cozy. The California Taxpayer Protection Racket-Committee is an organization that both Spence and Hudson are long-time affiliates of (and run). Quite Cozy.

Also, take note that Spence is touting the McClintock endorsement – the CRA refused to endorse Tom McClintock initially in 2014 and it was one Tom Hudson that went berzerk over it.

Having known Hudson for 18 years, I can safely say that he went berzerk because McClintock is a money-maker for him. A very, very cozy world it is in the CA GOP Conservative racket.

SD37: John Moorlach is re-elected by acclamation as Don Wagner did not file (I call it acclamation because the democrat that filed does not count). With that – the RightonDaily OC Blog stands down and congratulates Senator Moorlach.

AD55: Phillip Chen, Steve Tye and Mike Spence headline the field in AD55.

I like Phillip Chen a lot, I helped him two years ago and it appears that he has either made a deal or has become the chosen candidate of Team Huff. Chen is dynamic, young and is a great face for the Republican Party.

Chen is a man of faith with a law enforcement background. Some whiners are making an issue of photos of him “in uniform” – I’d be more concerned about the photos of Chen doing dead-lift sets of 275.

The optics of Phillip Chen versus Steve Tye and Mike Spence will be significant.

I like Steve Tye a lot. He is a good man, a man of excellent character. I have seen the opposition research on Mr. Tye that indicates that he is less than perfect on some fiscal issues as a councilmember. Every council member alive can be caught on something.

The knock on Tye has always been “viability”. Whatever. He is getting his fair share of endorsements and will have the resources he needs to compete

Amazingly enough, I also like Mike Spence. Spence is the right-winger of this campaign. I have no doubt whatsoever that either of his opponents will be able to compete with his conservative bona-fides.

Spence just announced McClintock’s endorsement and I am sure Moorlach, Donnelly, DeVore, etc. will follow. The issue for Spence will be can he diversify his base of support.

AD68: DUI Debbie, Steven Choi and Harry Sidhu

I really don’t need to elaborate on the train wreck known as Deborah Pauly. She filed. I am not sure why. I think maybe she wants pity for the Porsche she wrapped around a telephone pole.

Steven Choi – everything I have read about him is that he is a tax-raising liberal.

Harry Sidhu – it appears that the OC bloggers hate this guy, but in talking to people that know him it appears that his biggest flaws were running for OC Supe against the Iconic Shawn Nelson and carpetbagging into one or two other races. Neither seem to have anything to do with issues and what Harry would do if elected.

People that know Harry well speak highly of his character.

AD74: It appears that Katherine Daigle has filed against Matthew Harper Again. Does Mr. Harper have any money in his account? Will he raise any? Does he need any? I like Harper and always have. I don’t care who Daigle is, I am endorsing Harper.

Lake Forest – apparently the OCGOP has engaged in the Lake Forest City Council Caper against the neurotic Adam Nick and his attempt to gut that council. I am watching that from afar to see what ends up happening. In this case, I do agree with the incumbent protection plan because the incumbents have done something to deserve the support they have been given.

These sorts of things happen when you need to save face.

The scandal-ridden CRA was to have held an endorsing meeting for #AD55 via their board meeting.

However, there are plans to attempt to legitimize their expected endorsement of Mike Spence. Rather than telling the candidates not to come and that the endorsement meeting would be held at a later time, they did not.

Phillip Chen and Steve Tye learned at the convention that they burned part of a Friday for nothing and that two new CRA Units were in the works. One is in Mike Spence’ backyard and the other is being led by a long-time acolyte of Spence.

Somehow, the sudden giant paper growth is supposed to make the inevitable CRA endorsement of Mike Spence look legitimate.

But – hey, they’re not just right, they’re really  right!

Feb 182016

why?

Did you know that Mike Spence is a long-time business partner of the Pol-Pot Bellied CRA Information Minister Thomas N Hudson?

I knew of at least two groups that had been trying for a year to charter new units in the 55th AD area (Yorba Linda, Brea etc.) Miraculously, both efforts seem to have fizzled right around three months ago – the approximate date of Spence’s official entry in to the AD55 race.

For any of you that are not aware, it was during Mike Spence’s tenure as CRA President that massive organizational fraud took over the CRA. Now, the CRA’s 900 (soon to be 1000) club are at the helm reinstating the old way of doing business.

I am wondering if the IE’s that Thomas N Hudson will be running on Spence’s behalf are already funded? Has the check been deposited in the CRA operating account under the guise of covering the CRA’s expenses yet?

Whatever the answers are, this means they have already arranged the deck chairs for Mr. Spence – who is the odds-on favorite to win the CRA endorsement buffet. The Cash Renumeration Assembly is back – but at least they support capitalism.
