Not to mention that I’d also question the class of it for reasons you will see in a bit.

Public Service Announcement: If you want to donate to a Republican Governor Candidate, you can click here to donate to John Cox.

Mr Cox has also enumerated a specific platform upon which he is running – you can see it for yourself. IT is actually easier to read and shorter in length than the bevy of links that Mr. Allen sent in his fundraising email.

What I know about Mr. Allen? He is a surfer. He is kind of Rico Suave. He obviously needs a new accountant and someone screwed up giving him advice on how to run his campaign.

Somehow the man who would be governor “forgot” to pay $42K in back taxes. While he did self-refer (right before declaring for governor) it makes him look like a surfer dude and not a governor dude.

Dude.

So, like I got this email from some surfer dude inviting me to a soiree and some other dudes house in Santa Ana? And he wants a wad of cash to be there?

But, Like why?

Dude.

There are all these links to newspapers, I mean who reads newspapers anymore? I was like trippin’ out on Tony Hawk’s latest stuff and reading up on the X-Games. Why is this surfer dude trying to be a politician?

Hey Surfer dudes, drop the bong.

Travis Suave thinks you should write him a $1000 check because he posted a list of media stories in his fundraiser invite.

There’s nothing else there.

I am seriously wondering if Travis Allen is thinking twice about his decision to leave AD72, especially now that it is becoming clear that Tyler Diep is a disaster.

In case you are wondering what the rest of the email looks like? I snipped out the RSVP info, because you don’t need it anyway. You can do better things with your hard-earned money like give it to John Cox, take your pet rat to the vet or pay your income taxes on time…

I shrunk the second part to minimize the brain damage it will cause the viewer.

This is what I call a marketing #EPICFAIL. There is no reason why to invest in Travis Allen at all in this email, and my pointing this out is not going to change future emails that much as this pattern has repeated itself.

This looks more like an ego driven move than anything about a serious campaign. Please Travis, just stop now.

Tyler Diep’s Actions were so unethical that a fellow Councilmember said were “a reason for all of us to be scared”

After Tyler Diep was elected to the city council in 2009 one of the first things he did was try to use his power as councilman to intimidate the local police. The Story was chronicled in the Orange County Register.

Tyler Diep tried to bar police from doing routine business checkups on a local restaurant/bar owned by his friend. The restaurant/bar is a frequented by Diep and his buddy Andy Quach, a former councilman and many other Diep friends. Quach was arrested for DUI just a few months earlier and it was rumored he was leaving this same bar. In my 20 years in politics, I have observed a much larger number of people within politics who drink to excess (than in the real world) and this incident makes me wonder if this describes young Tyler as well.

Months after Quach’s DUI, Diep went ballistic and called the watch commander when he heard that police were doing a routine check-up at his favorite hangout. When Diep was told his call was being recorded, as all calls to the police are, Diep drove down to the Police Station after midnight to talk to the Watch Commander directly to try and convince them not to do their job. Had Diep been drinking? Was Diep worried he would get a DUI of his very own? Would this jeopardize the massive haul of taxpayer dollars he currently enjoys?

Judge for yourself and listen to this: Full Audio Recording:

The police officers repeatedly tell Diep their check-up was routine but that doesn’t stop him. “I’ll talk to the Chief about it” he ends up warning the officers.

Diep’s actions were so reprehensible Mayor Margie Rice called him out in the OC Register:

“We have to treat all businesses normally,” Rice said. “If a city council member is not being fair about the way they act and administer, that’s a reason for all of us to be scared.”

Rice is spot on. Tyler Diep’s behavior should scare us all. What would he do in Sacramento?

P.S. Could you imagine the negative campaign mail this story alone could bring? Diep has been lining up endorsements in an attempt to look inevitable. Having seen a string of “inevitable” Republican candidates lose in recent years, it is time to think AD72 through before there is mass buyer’s remorse.

To be continued…

Travis Allen has set out on a suicide mission for Governor and has anointed Tyler Diep for AD72. This dynamic has caused your intrepid blogger to look for answers as to who Young Mr. Diep is.

On his website Tyler Diep brags about his “public service” but what you won’t see on his website is that in his career of working on taxpayer dollars Diep has made quite a living at the expense of Orange County Taxpayers.

In 2016 alone, Tyler Diep was paid by 4 government agencies:

City Councilman of Westminster pay and Benefits    $26,056

California Board of Equalization Tax Specialist           $94,818 (Full Time Job)

Orange County Consulting Contract                          $25,000 (For 6 months)

In addition to all of this Tyler is an elected member of the Midway Sanitation District. I’m trying to track down that information, but as recently as 2014 he was paid another $26,000 in pay and benefits.

Has Tyler ever worked a non-government job in his young life?

Four government jobs totaling about $170k, all paid for by us. Not a bad haul for a 30-something!

It is a fair question to ask if his latest government job will be on the job training.

Can we afford a quadruple-diep in the Assembly?
