Yup. We’ve all seen it. Travis Allen is always “Fashionably Late”. Yesterday, he showed up an hour after the Placer Board of Supervisor’s meeting started. He showed up 2 hours late to the Sacramento GOP meeting. He’s shown up 15-45 minutes late to events. He even showed up 15 minutes late to a televised debate in Fresno.

So, why am I not surprised to learn that Travis Allen was forced to settle a claim for $8,000 related to an Annuity he sold that the client had actually decided against taking delivery of?

Wealth Strategies Group (Travis Allen’s Investment Firm) is a representative of and sells securities through Securities America Advisors, Inc. However, Allen and Wealth Strategies Group previously sold securities through Brookstreet Securities Corporation, which collapsed amidst scandal in June 2007 and was later sued by the SEC for high-risk investments to customers with more conservative investment goals.

Travis Allen has had three customer disputes filed against him according to FINRA, including one which claimed the customer was sold a high risk real estate fund;; even though they wanted investments with little risk – this is the same type of activity the SEC investigated Brookstreet over, additionally the complaint shows the actions by Allen took place while he was still working with Brookstreet.

Travis Allen was forced to pay $8,000 to settle another FINRA customer dispute in October 2004 after a customer complaint was also filed against Allen for failure to deliver an annuity policy in a timely manner.

Travis Allen promotes “environmentally responsible” investment strategies – i.e., investments that don’t support companies with irresponsible environmental or social corporate activity and
that promote progressive ideologies. This was according to archives of old websites that were captured. It certainly dovetails with his votes to ban the sale of Rhino Horn and his award from the Sierra Club after he skipped voting on the lead ammo ban.

Having been securities licensed at one point, I know that you have to be a five-star screw up to lose a complaint so bad you have to pay a fine. This complaint was 100% avoidable, but seems to be part of a pattern of poor personal discipline on the part of Travis Allen and would be an opposition researcher’s dream for any opponent of Travis Allen’s.

Travis Allen attacked the Tea Party! See the embedded link. Apparently some of the brain donors that hatched this conspiracy have not see the advertisements on this blog since January for Cox for Governor. #FACEPALM

Well, Randall Jordan, the facilitator for the Tea Party California Caucus

Dear Fellow Tea Party Members and Supporters:
I know this is politics, but I am sickened by an anonymous scam artist calling himself “Silence is no voice”.  This person has created a Facebook page for “Cox” volunteers, claimed that Cox paid off the Tea Party California Caucus for its endorsement and that I had donated $900 to his campaign for Governor.
1. The Tea Party Caucus does not endorse in ANY race.  So, he could not “buy” an endorsement.
2. Cox did donate $1,000 the TPCC to be a sponsor of a conference we held, “The Real Resistance”, in the summer of 2017.
3. Contrary to the scamsters statement I am NOT a member of the CRP Executive Committee.
4. I did not donate $900 to the initiative campaign for a “Neighborhood Legislature” in February, 2017. Nor did I donate to Cox for his race for Governor
5. The person behind this is obviously trying to confuse conservatives and create chaos among our dedicated activists.  Please let me know who is passing these rumors and we will contact them.
The Tea Party California Caucus is holding a conservative coalition dinner on Friday night at the convention.  It will be at Phils BBQ, near the hotel.  For more information and to buy your ticket, go here: http://www.teapartycc.com/dinner_s2018
Our Featured speaker will the America One newscaster and anchor, Graham Ledger. This is an opportunity to meet and network with like minded conservative leaders and activists.
On Saturday the TPCC is sponsoring a conference, “2019 and Beyond for the Republican Party”.  Amon the speakers will be Jon Fleischman, Linda Paine and Steve Frank.  Woody Woodrum will be hosting.
See you next week in San Diego!!
Randall Jordan
Chairman Tea Party California Caucus

When marginal candidates realize they are losing they go in to a state of feuge where they start flying apart at the seams and trying to take anyone and everyone down with them. Travis Allen’s sexualized emotional manipulation has gotten to the place where the results are toxic. Good people who are innocent and non-combatants are getting savaged.

Today, the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers endorsed John Cox. It will not be long before there are public attacks beyond the small facebook group grumblings attacking Jarvis for their choice.

“HJTA PAC Board of Directors was impressed by Cox, who has been an important coalition partner in the gas/car tax repeal effort. Jon Coupal further stated that ‘John Cox has demonstrated an ability to work with a broad spectrum of people to accomplish difficult and important goals and to articulate a limited government and pro-property rights message.’”

Travis Allen is also melting down over the increasing questions being asked about his horrendous attendance as an Assemblymember.

In fact, Travis Allen who has been campaigning on a Voter ID Law did not even show up to present his own bill!!! See the embedded tweet from the chairman of the elections committee.

To top it off, Travis Allen missed a Televised Debate, showing up late as is his custom to campaign events. He was 2 hours late to the Sacramento GOP endorsing meeting and has been 15-30 minutes late to events consistently.

In 2015 – Travis Allen missed 25% of the votes in the Assembly.

In the Assembly, Assemblyman Rocky Chávez, R-Oceanside, did not vote 14.9 percent of the time on the floor, and Assemblywoman Nora Campos, D-San Jose, had a nonvote percentage of 10.9 percent. In committee action,Assembly members Travis Allen, R-Huntington Beach, and Roger Hernández, D-Baldwin Park, did not vote about a quarter of the time.

Was Travis out buying dinner tickets for $1000 to Jerry Brown or $250 to Brad “Impeachment” Sherman?

In 2016 – Travis Allen took Per-Diem 36 Times when he was absent (meaning he likely was absent more than the 36 times documented here)

Travis Allen, R-Huntington Beach, 36 absences, $2,351

Ouch.

Is Travis Allen a serious candidate? Or, does he in the middle of a mid-life crisis where he needs to feel important?

May 142018

Travis Allen, R-Huntington Beach, 36 absences, $2,351

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California lawmakers are eligible to receive $176 per day for lodging and food for each day the Legislature is in session to compensate them for being away from home, on top of their annual six-figure salaries. A review by The Associated Press finds lawmakers routinely collect the payments on days they don’t go to work, under rules they set for themselves, or if they say they are working away from Sacramento.

Here is a list of current members of the state Legislature, the total number of days they were absent, and how much per diem each lawmaker collected on days they were absent during the most recent legislative session, from Dec. 1, 2014 to Aug. 8, 2016.

Whoopsie. Now you see how Travis Allen missed over 500 votes in his short tenure in the Assembly, he was out surfing. And, he ripped us off to boot!

Mar 152018

In the survey of 1,000 likely voters done by nationally recognized pollsterDavid Binder, Newsom corrals 26 percent of the vote; Cox, 16 percent; Democratic state Treasurer John Chiang, 13 percent; former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, 12 percent, Assemblyman Travis Allen, R-Huntington Beach, 10 percent; Democratic former Superintendent of Public Instruction Delaine Eastin, 7 percent; and former Hillary Clinton adviser Amanda Renteria, 4 percent. The survey found 12 percent of respondents were undecided.

Now – the response of the Travis-Bots will be predictable, attack the pollster, cite that it is March, etc.

The problem is that the body of evidence is starting to mount up – John Cox is advertising, Travis Allen can’t. You can talk grassroots all you want, but when you can not organize an effort large enough to contact millions of voters, you can’t get anywhere.

The SF Chron article gets better:

A new poll has Republican businessman John Cox less than a single percentage point behind Democratic Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom in the race for governor, 45.1 percent to 44.6 percent.

Of course, the internal poll was paid for by Cox. And the numbers come after the 496 people in the online survey were asked about the importance of a series of issues or proposals and given undisclosed “positive arguments likely to be made” by Cox and Newsom.

But the most interesting part of the poll is that it simulates a head-to-head matchup in the November governor’s race, ignoring the still very-much-undecided June 5 primary.

No problem. The poll by Smith Johnson Research was designed to show whether Cox had a chance against Newsom in November, so mission accomplished.

“Results of the survey demonstrated the viability of a John Cox candidacy,” the poll’s directors said in a Sunday memorandum.

The brutal reality is setting in for Travis Allen, but rest assured, the kool-aid will continue flowing to the bitter end.

We’ve said for a long time that Travis is soft on a lot of issues, immigration being one of them. He has bad votes and in other cases, non-votes that tell the story of his short tenure in the Assembly.

Here is one such vote. Travis Allen skipped voting on the illegal alien driver’s license. DOH. #EPICFAIL

Also, click the link to see what kind of public statements he made on the issue. (see also crickets)

Travis Allen has one of the highest absentee rates in the Assembly, but he did have enough time to be #touchy. #touchytravis

I feel honored that out of 39,000,000 people in California, that Travis Allen mentioned ME by name in his speech to CRA asking for their endorsement.

Travis Allen was sweating the CRA-zy endorsement all weekend. He started by holding a “rally” outside with a few dozen people and then his rabid dogs came in to the CRA Convention area and immediately began defacing John Cox material and vandalizing rally signs on the walls.

Mr. Allen did nothing to dissuade these people from their actions.

There is a phenomena with Travis Allen’s small cadre of hard-core supporters, they react similar to cult followers. I have had my wife threatened, my business threatened, been trolled (far beyond the normal political debate banner) and I’ve observed several people treating Mr. Allen like a savior. This sort of behavior by Travis to elicit this response is not healthy and will have disastrous results long term. It is also clear that Allen understands that his only hope of being more than a footnote is to keep his supporters lathered in to a frenzy – complete with sexually charged photos of himself.

As I’ve been calling delegates of the California Republican Party, (which are a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BREED than the CRA) people have been volunteering their opinions to me of the Allen Campaign effort. Their comments mirror my analysis.

Yet, here we were at the CRA convention where Allen should have won the endorsement running away. He had every natural advantage including the convention being in his backyard (Orange County). Literally the Hotel was about 10 miles from the border of his Assembly District.

One clear sign of Allen’s stress level was that Travis Allen was yelling at John Cox from across the room on Saturday at the CRA Convention, and John Cox was ignoring him.

Travis Allen took a group of people from the CRA out for free booze on Saturday Night.

There were a few other micro stories from the weekend, but my favorite is hearing about how hung over Travis Allen was in the morning at the convention. His eyes were completely bloodshot and he apparently was still carrying the aroma of the evening with him. (At least he was not adding more names to his #METOO file…)

Even the morning of the endorsement vote, two of his volunteers were frenetically calling people as they knew they did not have the votes lined up. For example, Dr. Alexandria Coronado showed up to a CRA Convention (instead of being out campaigning for AD65) for the first time in years and people were being dragged to the convention by Allen’s people. (These sorts of last minute panic drills, while common, are not a good place to be in from a campaign standpoint)

However, the overriding story is that a group the “Conservative Hero” Travis Allen should have had wrapped up required an extreme amount of effort to reign in. Note – Travis Allen also used some of his meager resources to by a full page ad in the CRA’s Convention program as well. (speaking of pay to play)

I believe that this weekend shows that the Travis Allen Campaign has serious structural issues and is running on empty. It also shows that your intrepid blogger is now living rent free in the head of Travis Allen. We still have three-plus months together that are going to be a lot more fun than I realized.

(See the two embedded photos below for just one example of Travis Allen supporters off their medication, as this crazed woman attacked a post about my father and also attacked my insurance business – not pictured is the wackjob from Solano County that was sending me memes of my wife.)

At the end of the day, the drunken binge was the difference maker as the endorsement vote was 65-32. This is the “Conscience” of the Republican Party. It seems to me that a “Conservative Conscience” eschews drunkenness among other things.

I still look to the day when I was expelled from that group as liberation from a leper colony.

Travis Allen has been advertising “sold out” events in venues that hold 40 people. Doug Ose managed to get 10 Donors together at a recent fundraiser.

Perhaps Travis’ Sold out 40 Person Events are the reason why he needed to play Pretend.

Only in the world of Travis Allen is PORAC (who endorsed Antonio Suave Villariagosa) and the Humane Society a Conservative Group.

Only in the world of Travis Allen are past endorsements from his assembly days translated in to his governor campaign. Hey wait, Travis Allen is an incumbent Assembly Politician? I thought he was the outsider?

Travis Allen sent out a whopper of an email:

Dear Fellow CRP Delegate,
The California Republican Party has kicked off its candidate endorsement process, and we need your help!

In order to be considered for endorsement by the CRP, we must collect signed endorsement forms from CRP delegates like you by April 4th. That gives us less than 2 months to collect signatures!

If you’d like to help TAKE BACK CALIFORNIA please assist us in this very important process. Here are two options:

1) Print the CRP endorsement form (attached here), complete it, and mail it to the campaign office at:
Travis Allen for Governor Attn: Assembly Rules Committee
                                                 State Capitol, Room 3016
Sacramento, California 95814
*Reminder:  If you sign an endorsement form for me, you are helping ensure two democrats make the fall runoff*
OR
2) Contact the campaign staff and we can give you pre-programmed talking points to deal with the mess in my opposition research file.

TRAVIS ALLEN is the only candidate for Governor WHO HAS over 500 unexcused absences from the Assembly!  Any search through his voting record, or yet better: go through his years of Facebook posts, you will find that he thinks he is the only one that has been fighting for our conservative causes. (His colleagues be dammed) He has been writing the legislation (with only 5 of 96 bills passed), he has been defending our point of view, and only HE has the energy, charisma, and FIRE to challenge the democrat opponent in the primary. (Because giving people the tingles when you speak is what matters most)

(Insert self-promoting information here)

Travis Allen has the background, he has been on both sides of the issues, and he really thinks he has fought the fight for us. He has a grassroots army and no money. His appearances all sell out (because we use small venues) and his social media presence exceeds any competitor (because that is all you can afford when $295k in the hole).  We can take this state and return some sanity to our government, but we cannot split the vote!  It takes YOU to help with this process. Please endorse him now since time is now of the essence.

Travis Allen is available to speak to you personally to answer any questions you may have, just contact Jenniffer with the above email.

He is endorsed by conservative groups such as:
  • California National Federation of Independent Business <<< Confirmed they have NOT endorsed Travis Allen for Governor
  • Crime Victims United of California <<< Confirmed, they have NOT endorsed Travis Allen for Governor
  • Gun Owners of California <<< Confirmed, they have NOT endorsed Travis Allen for Governor
  • Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association <<< Confirmed, they have NOT endorsed Travis Allen for Governor
  • Humane Society Legislative Fund <<< Why would a conservative hero mention this group?
  • National Federation of Independent Business <<< Confirmed, they have NOT endorsed Travis Allen for Governor
  • National Rifle Association <<< Confirmed, they have NOT endorsed Travis Allen for Governor
  • Peace Officers Research Association of California <<< A Union-related group that endorsed Antoino???
We are counting on you to believe our BS so that Travis can make it into the top two and ensure that a Republican is on the ballot in November! (Even though we are in debt $203 in our governor account and have $75k+ in unpaid bills from our 2016 Assembly Campaign!)
If you have any questions, please contact the Assembly Rules Committee.

A key point – Travis Allen’s rally only drew a few hundred people.

A second key point – Travis Allen is dead last in fundraising

Then the remainder of the article was about Travis Allen, Gavin Newsome and Antonio Villariagosa’s #METOO issues.

If you watch the video clip with an open mind, there is no way you could ask for worse coverage. The TV station gave Travis Allen far more than soundbytes in their coverage, making it pretty difficult to claim that it was edited down too far. The quote from a Travis Allen supporter, though she was trying to help only re-emphasized the documented sexual harassment issues he has.

Then there was another story on another channel that focused on Travis Allen’s contributions to democrats:

Cox is also blasting Allen for previously supporting Democrats “with a long history of giving contributions and supporting Democrats like Gavin Newsom, Barbara Boxer and Jerry Brown,” said Tim Rosales, Cox’s campaign manager.

Allen admitted to contributing money to California Democrats.

“Actually, this is very true,” he said. “When I was a business owner — and I still am, I own an investment advisory firm and I’ve been running my company since 2001 — I went to a number of events at the request of clients and friends. And this is what started my political career because I listened to those Democrats.”

Got it? All it took was his Uncle, former OC Dem Party Chair Frank Barbaro to get him to write out fat checks to democrats. The rest is a spin fail.

Lastly, both stories make clear reference that Travis Allen is claiming the bi-partisan investigation in to his sexual harassment issues was all some sort of democrat smear campaign. Not a good optic for the California electorate.

Somehow, Travis Allen took what should have been a positive and let it get completely turned around on him! #EPICFAIL.

(P.S. I guess this event didn’t work out so well for Mr. Allen who is dead last in fundraising)

Feb 022018

Travis Allen’s nascent campaign for Governor was mortally wounded today.

Added to the laundry list of issues is the fatal wound – Travis Allen stands alone on the #METOO list as the only Republican Member of the Assembly to qualify for the honor.

Cases released to the news media on Friday, more than three months after requests for the public records, were for instances in which discipline was imposed or allegations against elected officials or their employees was deemed well-founded.

▪ In 2013, a staff member complained that Allen had seemed to “make a practice of being unnecessarily close to her” and it made her uncomfortable. She described a briefing where they sat next to each other and he slid his foot over to touch hers, and an another incident in which he came up behind her in the cafeteria and squeezed her shoulders. She said she heard from another woman in the office that when she shook hands with Allen, he held onto her hand and “petted it.”

Jon Waldie, former chief administrator of the Assembly, spoke to Allen after the complaint was filed and “reminded him to be very conscious of his conduct.” He said Allen “could not recall a time when he might have been too familiar with staff,” but did remember two women being overly friendly with him at an event outside of work.

Got it – Travis Allen’s response? It was their fault. Travis Allen is going to have way too much explaining to do to all but the most unreachable. It is probably too large a list off issues to have to explain in order to save his campaign that is $207,000 in the hole.

Let’s be overly friendly with the list of issues Travis Allen has.

Two verified sexual misconduct complaints

Two Assembly Campaigns in the hole a combined $88,000

A Governor Campaign in the hole $207,000

$42,000 in tax liens

A nice list of donations to democrats:

His donations started in August 2010, when he gave $100 to Newsom’s campaign for lieutenant governor. Newsom is now one of his rivals in the 2018 governor’s race. Allen, who lives in Huntington Beach, also gave $250 to the Democratic Party of Orange County’s federal political action committee.

In October 2010, Allen gave $250 to California Sen. Barbara Boxer, $250 to the state Democratic Party and $1,000 to Brown. The donation to Brown was made in the name of the financial planning firm Allen owns, Wealth Strategies Group. All of the other contributions to Democrats were made in his own name.

Allen also gave $250 to “4 for Senate Victory,” a committee that supported Democratic U.S. senators and Senate candidates, in October 2010 — although it’s unclear whether that was a separate donation from the $250 he gave to Boxer. The committee bankrolled candidates like Boxer, Michael Bennet of Colorado and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut.

Finally, in June 2011, Allen donated $500 to the campaign of Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Sherman Oaks, who made headlines this year for becoming the first member of Congress to introduce articles of impeachment against Trump.

In addition, Travis Allen has missed over 500 votes in the State Legislature, including skipping voting on the lead ammo ban and subsequent accolades from the Humane Society.

Lastly, Travis Allen is getting hammered almost daily by the California Pro-Life Council over his Pro-Choice record as a legislator.

Some Conservative.

Travis Allen has issued some weak responses including explaining away his financial largess to democrats as “Buying Event Tickets” and being “Before he was in office”. Well, the sexual misconduct explanation is outrageous and the behavior happened once he was in office, just like the tax liens. Now his governor campaign is running on fumes and those fumes just caught fire. It is time for Travis Allen to go home for the good of California.

What’s next? Taking a gun onto an airplane? #NOTMAGA #EPICFAIL

Feb 012018

Travis Allen would have you believe he is the premier conservative in the race for governor. We’ve seen that he does not pay his bills, garnering some $42,000+ in Tax Liens.

Travis Allen is carrying debt from his 2012 Assembly run, still, 6 years later. Try $13,091 in debt. Who is still waiting on payment? <<< Click the hyperlink for the Secretary of State’s Report

Travis Allen is carrying massive debt from his 2018 Assembly Campaign account – showing $82,520 in debt against a meager $7400 in cash, a deficit of $75K

He starts $88,000 in the hole unless he has no intention of paying his bills.

Then we have this gem from the Los Angeles Times:

Cox’s cash on hand puts him far ahead of GOP rival Travis Allen, who entered 2018 more than $200,000 in debt. The other top Republican in the race, former Rep. Doug Ose, won’t have to disclose finances until the spring because he entered the contest only this month.

He reported raising $518,446 in 2017, on top of the $3 million the Rancho Santa Fe businessman donated to his campaign.

Travis Allen used his failed gas tax measure to raise $368K, not bad until you look at his report. Since many of his supporters think the LA Times made the numbers up, similar to the above links to data straight off of the actual filings, here we are again with a copy of the actual report. WHOOPS. 135,585 in cash, and 342,850 in the hole. For those of you scoring at home that pretty close to $207,000 in the hole.

What is $207K + 95k? 302K. This is called a financial train-wreck and anyone working for him or doing business with him should take serious pause.

The reality is that Mr. Allen has left the two old accounts open, one for 6 years as he has neglected or intended to not pay back the debts in either of them. The fact that his governor account is in the hole $200K when Mr. Cox is sitting on $2MM begs the obvious question – is facebook the only place Travis Allen will be campaigning? Will he get invited to future debates where he can try to earn media by fighting with the moderator? That’s it, Facebook and making bombastic moves at pubic forums appear to the the Travis Allen strategy as it does not appear he can afford the slate mail cards he alleges to have put deposits in on.

When you add to this that Travis Allen has a horrific attendance record to the legislature, missing large numbers of important votes over the years – the tax liens, the campaign debt and the lackadaisical attendance to the job he got elected to and paid for suggest a man who is neither a conservative by life choices nor ready for the Governor’s office.
