This update is actually as of 5/20 as the news comes like a firehose. Despite the media’s obsession with trying to take trump down with leaks, anonymous sources and the same impeachment talk that they ran against Both Bush’s and Reagan – a lot is going on!

Economic News:

The US Senate is Seriously Looking at Tax Reform that Lasts Longer than 10 Years.

House Ways and Means Chairman tells CNBC that they are hard at work on a tax reform plan.

The Treasury Secretary and National Economic Director met with the US Senate regarding tax reform.

Bottom line – tax reform is coming.

How about economic news? The economy is starting to recover for real:

ON 5/15 the S&P 500 and the NASDAQ hit record highs.

The Wall Street Journal is projecting 3.1% GDP in the Second Quarter. 3.1% would be the largest quarter in a long time.

Continuing a trend, the unemployment rate (and underemployment rate) hit their lowest level in 28 years.

Since May, the claims for unemployment benefits are down to the lowest level in 28 years, the Department of Labor reported Thursday, according to the Washington Examiner.

Federal reporting shows that the number of unemployed workers is now at 19 million, the lowest since March 1998 when the U.S. workforce was much smaller.

Furthermore, the number of continuing claims are down to 1.95 million, the lowest since 1974.

Fed (Phly-Fed) Manufacturing Index Blew past projections for May.

In related news, the Trump administration announces plans to renegotiate NAFTA. Withdrawing from NAFTA was a major campaign promise, but Mexico and Canada’s Presidents made direct personal requests of Trump for a re-negotiation.

Donald Trump signs massive arms/trade deal with Saudi Arabia. The total value is around $450 Billion and could be way more.

A Bi-Partisan bill called the regulatory reform act is working its’ way through Congress. This will make regulations costing $1 Billion or more be subject to far more scrutiny than current. This would have installed a huge check on some of the worst of the worst from the Obama admin.

As a subset of regulatory reform, the EPA is preparing for massive budget cuts. The EPA was used as a tool of social justice by the Obama Administration. The EPA is setting up funding for buyouts of employees it is expecting to have to terminate.

Lastly, Trump signed HR 66 that eliminated Obama’s last minute edict about State Run Retirement Accounts for Private Sector Workers.

Here is a Social Issue that the Trump Administration took up – they expanded the Mexico City Policy to cover all overseas abortions.

The Trump administration announced a massive expansion Monday of the pro-life Mexico City Policy, issuing guidelines that will strip billions of dollars in aid from international groups that perform or promote abortion.

Originally a ban covering roughly $600 million in family planning money, the Trump policy now applies to all international health care aid doled out by the U.S. government — nearly $9 billion.

Under the Obama administration, violence against police was encouraged. AS a result, it has surged.

The House passed the thin blue line act:

Rep. Vern Buchanan’s (R-FL) Thin Blue Line Act passed the House Thursday by a vote of 271-143. The bill would make the murder or attempted murder of a police officer, firefighter or other first responder an “aggravating” factor in death penalty determinations, Buchanan’s office explained in a press release Thursday.

Donald Trump has made respect and support for law enforcement one of the cornerstones of his domestic agenda.

The FCC has taken the first steps to dismantling Obama’s Net Neutrality Rules. Net Neutrality was basically done in order to allow the government to regulate the internet and thus, shut down Conservative media that is largely on line due to the monopoly on broadcast and print media. This is another campaign promise kept.

On the subject of both immigration and law enforcement, Donald Trump has made it clear to Congress that the border wall is a central part to any law enforcement efforts in government.

“The drug epidemic is poisoning too many American lives, and we’re going to stop it in many different ways. One of them will be the wall,” Mr. Trump said.

Even though illegal immigration across the U.S.-Mexico border appears to be down dramatically under Mr. Trump, the flow of drugs remains high — with heroin and other serious narcotics surging.

In a six week raid, ICE and the FBI picked up 1,378 Gang Members.

IN addition, specific raids were carried out in California to round up MS-13 Gang Leaders indicted back in 2014 (!) that were still at large.

The task force, formed in 2014, targeted 44 individuals associated with MS-13, including 12 senior members of the street gang’s leadership council.

At least 21 suspects were arrested without incident Wednesday morning. Another 20 suspects were transferred from state to federal custody. The remaining three suspects are considered fugitives.

Illegal Immigrant arrests up 38% since Trump’s Inauguration. Other reports show that illegal immigration has dropped 70% since Trump was elected.

Trump, through economic and diplomatic pressure has reduced the number of countries refusing to take deportees from 20 down to 12.

Foreign Policy – showing strength and winning:

Iran diverts their troop movements because of US Military Successes against ISIS. Looks like Iran does not want to mess with the USA. (Probably less so after our massive arms deal with Saudi Arabia)

IRAQ and the US are beginning post ISIS troop strength negotiations! Note, it only took 4 months to get to this point? What was Obama doing?

General Mattis is talking openly about the annihilation of ISIS. What a difference.

So, despite all the obsession over the Russia Did It Lie and the massive leaks from all over everywhere from the bowels of government trying to take Trump down… a lot of stuff is happening still in the blizzard of Trump.
